Do’s
- Be careful while you are still numb
- Drink plenty of water
- Eat softer foods
- Use an ice pack in the area of the extraction(s)
- Brush and floss remaining teeth as normal, using gentle care around the extraction area
- Call Dr. Watterson if you have any questions or concerns
Do Not's
- Drink through a straw
- Eat or drink hot (temperature) foods/drinks while numb
- Sneeze with your mouth closed or “holding it in”, or cough hard
- Spit
- Smoke cigarettes or marijuana
- Eat hard crunchy foods
- Drink alcoholic or carbonated beverages for 48 hours
- Swish or rinse vigorously
- Remove stitches (if placed)
- Lift heavy objects or exercise vigorously for 48 hours
- Don’t hesitate to call Dr. Watterson if you have questions or concerns

Serving as a general dentist for 25 years, I have developed and curated a passion for cosmetic dentistry in all its facets. I believe that form follows function and that is the basis of my practice. When your teeth are able to function the way you need them to, beautiful form naturally follows.
